The backlash began after the release of the Hindi version of Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke, a track from the period action entertainer KD: The Devil, starring Sanjay Dutt and Dhruva Sarja. The song—originally composed by Arjun Janya and sung by Mangli—faced severe criticism for its lyrics (written by Raqeeb Alam), which many deemed explicit and objectionable. The outrage eventually led to a formal complaint, and the song was subsequently pulled down from YouTube and social media platforms.

Nora’s Defense: “No Permission or Approval”
Nora firmly distanced herself from the controversial Hindi version of the track. She clarified several key points regarding her involvement:
A Three-Year-Old Shoot: Nora revealed that she originally shot the music video in Kannada nearly three years ago. Because she did not understand the language, she relied on the director’s explanation of the song’s context.
Unauthorized Hindi Dub: She maintained that she never shot for or approved the Hindi version of the track. “Whatever they have done right now, dubbing it in Hindi and the lyrics, they did not take any permission or approval from me,” she explained.
AI Images and Unflattering Visuals: Nora stated that she was deeply disturbed at the song’s launch event when she noticed the creators used unflattering images and an AI-generated photo of her alongside Sanjay Dutt in the lyrical video.
Dissociating from the Project: Anticipating the backlash, Nora immediately raised concerns with the director, stating that her reputation was on the line, and officially dissociated herself from the track’s promotions.
