Arion Kurtaj, an 18-year-old hacker affiliated with the Lapsus$ cybercrime group, infiltrated Rockstar’s internal Slack channels using a hotel TV and an Amazon Firestick while he was already out on bail for other crimes.

Kurtaj leaked over 90 videos of an early, unfinished GTA 6 development build, confirming the return to Vice City and the introduction of a female protagonist, Lucia, for the first time. Due to his severe autism and his expressed intent to continue hacking, a UK court sentenced Kurtaj to an indefinite life stay in a secure psychiatric hospital in December 2023.
